Bug Description

Defaults definitions for Sent and Draft folders when they are part of
the exchange inbox (personal/elementos enviados and personal/borradores) doesn't persist after termination and restar the application.

Distribution: Ubuntu 5.10 (breezy)
Package: Evolution
Severity: major
Version: GNOME2.12.1 unspecified
Gnome-Distributor: Ubuntu
Synopsis: Default Sent and Draft folders configuration doesn't persist after restar the application.
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Miscellaneous
Bugzilla-Version: unspecified

Description of Problem:
Defaults definitions for Sent and Draft folders when they are part of
the exchange inbox (personal/elementos enviados and personal/borradores)
doesn't persist after termination and restar the application.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Define in Evolution an account pointing to a Microsoft Exchange
Server and configure it.
2. Specify default configuration for Sent and Draft folders pointing to
the corresponding ones in the Exchange server.
3. Quit Evoluting and then start it again.
4. The configuration seted in 2 are blanked.

As long as i keep the session running (the same when the configuration
is done) the program work as expected. When you quit the program and
restart it this part of the configuration is blanked as explained in 4

Actual Results:
Send mail not being recorded in the sent items in the corresponding
exchange folder. Actually not keeping copy of sent items nowhere.
Draft mail not being recorded in the draft items in the corresponding
exchange folder.

Expected Results:
Every time I send a messege I expect to see it in the corresponding sent
items of the exchange server.

How often does this happen?
Every time I quit and restart evolution.

Additional Information:
The exchange server is using Spanish language... and the folders as
described in spanish sent items=elementos enviados and draft
items=borrador maybe this has something to do with the problem. Also
Evolution in the preferenses accounts edit default sees them as
personal/elementos enviados y personal/borradores

Hi!

Here is a possible solution. After this short HOWTO, I started Evolution 7 times and it stored the settings. Hope I solved the problem. I work with Kubuntu Breezy Badger 5.10 and evolution 2.4.1. I don't know wheather step 1 is needed or not. So try and error and make backups of your files!

1. go to /home/<username>/.evolution/mail/exchange/ and remove unused directories (old exchange accounts)
2. get gconf-editor
3. start "gconf-editor"
4. go to /apps/evolution/mail
5. search for "<drafts-folder>" and "<sent-folder>" in accounts (it seems to be a kind of html 'programming')
6. If you found the two entries, right-click on accounts -> edit -> delete the entry between <drafts-folder> and </drafts-folder> as well as the entry between <sent-folder> and </sent-folder>
7. Start Evolution
8. Repeat step 1, now in the two fields should be written sth. like "specify your..."

Hope that will help!

To my previous post:

Forget step 8. It's useless ;)
