I see that the status is changed to "Fix Released" but I am not getting it from the repos.

This is probably due to my ignorance on the meanings of the status choices, but I would assume that "Released" means that it is in the repos, while "Fix Committed" would mean that it is ready to be added and will be included in a batch update or something. Sorry if this isn't the place to ask such questions, but I couldn't (easily) find information/definitions of the status choices.

I guess the question I should be asking is: When will the status be (I know it's not an option) "Fix Available"?

This is a bug in Launchpad, which marks bugs as "Fix Released" when a
package has been uploaded to Ubuntu, even though it hasn't yet been
built or made available. There is usually a short delay.

The fix should now be available:
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/u/ubuntu-docs/ubuntu-docs_9.04.7_all.deb

Please test and provide feedback if it isn't working.

As a work-around, edit line 21 of /var/lib/dpkg/info/ubuntu-docs.postinst and put the version number at the end in quotes. That is, change

           && dpkg --compare-versions "$2" lt-nl <9.04.6>

to

           && dpkg --compare-versions "$2" lt-nl "<9.04.6>"

After you're done, re-do "apt-get install ubuntu-docs".
This will allow the package to install cleanly.

The fix is package ubuntu-docs 9.04.7 so you either need to do an update on
your repo, or if you using a mirror the changes haven't propagated through
yet.

That is what I am trying to tell you: As of right now, there are still broken packages on some mirrors (including several German ones I've tested). This should be resolved soon, just a heads-up for people that still get this error because of that.
