Bug Description

Huge URLs are quite common in bug reports, and are the worst offender for
causing text to overflow rendering areas making pages unreadable.

It would be quite easy to truncate huge URLs in the display code, preserving
the full URL in the href and displaying the full URL as a mouse over.

I think I proposed that and mpt said that the right way to do this would be to fix bug 959. I have a patch for that bug -- would you like to build upon it?

I don't see us being able to fully deal with Bug 929 in the short term. I would consider handling URLs in this way a short term fix until we have worked out a solid way of dealing with Bug 929 on a suitable subset of browsers.

Bug 929 is deployed; this is now a non-issue, I think. Please open a new discussion if you want something changed in bug 929 in particular.
