Bug Description

In Slovak launguage support package are missing dependencies on myspell and ispell spellcheckers.

Slovak myspell and ispell packages (and also packages with thesaurus and hyphenation paterns) for Ubuntu are not in repositiories but are accessible from:
http://chabada.sk/packages/deb/spell/
http://chabada.sk/packages/src/spell/
This packages shoud be taken into Ubuntu repositories to improve usability of Ubuntu in Slovakia, prefferably into Dapper because (it does not harm anything, it is not binary program, there are not known bugs...).

Official source for all Slovak spellcheckers:
http://sk-spell.sk.cx/
http://sk-spell.sk.cx/files/ispell-sk-0.3.1.tar.gz
http://sk-spell.sk.cx/files/myspell-sk_SK-0.5.5a.zip

i18n support is always good and one of our main goals, let's push the priority a little.

Thank you! I will close the bug once the package is through main and added to language-pack-sk.

I tried ispell-sk, but it doesn't seem to work:

$ ispell -d slovak xx
Illegal format hash table

any idea?

myspell-sk is in dapper, l-s-sk dependency added. I change the bug data for ispell-sk now, which needs further attention (see my previous comment).

Thank you Martin.

I also tried ispell-sk but I cannot reproduce the problem (neither breezy nor dapper). Can you send me the checked file? Other languages works well on it?

As I know ispell (all languages) does not work with utf-8. Shouldn't be this that problem?

I just used a trivial test file:

echo 'foo bar' > test.txt
$ ispell -d slovak test.txt
Illegal format hash table
$ ispell -d ndeutsch xx
-> works fine

I'm confirming this report. slovak support for ispell is still missing.
I've tried ispell with http://sk-spell.sk.cx/files/ispell-sk-0.3.2.tar.gz and it's working with or without utf-8 encoding.

Thanks for your time

I agree that packaging those would certainly be nice, but we won't add them to language-support-sk. We just threw out all aspell and ispell dictionaries, in order to clean up Ubuntu to just use hunspell everywhere:
