Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Alpha testing, using AMD64 ISO: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20090610.1/karmic-desktop-amd64.iso

Near to the end of the auto-resize installation ubiquity fails. Attached is a png screen shot of the error message.

After this, apport tries to report the issue, but this fails also (see 2nd attached png).

Tested on DELL Inpsiros 6400 Laptop, with ~40GB for the original installation and ~40GB for the new installation in the auto-resized disc. Laptop has 1GB RAM, 80GB disc.

We can't do anything with this bug as it stands; the files we need from the running installer are /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman, so if you can extract these we'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Changed in ubiquity (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete

Colin, attached is a gzipped tar file containing these required files:

/var/log/syslog
/var/log/partman
/var/log/installer/debug

Hope this helps more

Thanks. This is the same problem that was reported (and fixed) as bug 385995.
