\r line endings poorly handled

Bug Description
It seems that Mac-style line breaks are not supported yet. When I tried to view a file with that kind of line break, the content after the first \r was not displayed.

I can confirm this. It's a little surprising!
Surely noone actually uses \r-delimited files any more though? IIRC they were going out of fashion when I learnt to program on the mac 15 years ago!
