This is for Karmic, so if it doesn't get filed under karmic, I don't know how and I apologise.

nVidia has updated their 173 line of drivers, so a supported kernel module would be useful.

I am specificly filing for the card I need, an nVidia GeForce Fx Go5200.

i don't know if nvidia updates fix incompatibility with 2.6.31, specifically the errors such as,
‘struct proc_dir_entry’ has no member named ‘owner’ in nv.c
and,
‘agp_memory’ has no member named ‘memory’ in os-agp.c

i've included 2 patches that allow for 2.6.31 kernels, i'll put test packages in ppa

note, these patches work with current 173-173.14.16 package in karmic
