Bug Description
In ubuntu dapper 6.06 install I can't set the modem sound to low or off i.e I can select the available settings, but the modem sound is always on loud.
(I edited /etc/chatscript
I orginated this bug. Today, June 4th 2006, I updated gnome-ppp with apt and got the latest update. Gnome-ppp still doesn't establish a connection-although it can access the modem and dial out. I am including the terminal output here (this output is from the previous day, but even after the update the same error output occurs-also I have only used pppconfig to set up the modem-no files have been hand edited): .Aborting! !

Note: modem monitor works to establish a connection, but if the connection drops I can't re-connect unless I re-boot AND remove the old modem monitor panel icon and add a new one.
