i can only change resolution once

Bug Description

what i used:
ubuntu 6 beta 2 live cd
radeon x300se graphics card
acer al2016ws monitor

the resolution that i get when i start ubuntu is 1600x1200.
since i have widescreen i change to 1400x900.
after i've successfully done that i can't change to any other resolution.
i click apply and the keep resolution but nothing happens.

First, do you still have this problem with the latest Dapper packages installed, or with the Edgy Beta Live CD?
What video driver do you use? Can you describe how you change the resolution the first time? Have you set up your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file to support the required resolutions?

i have a new computer now and i'm not using ubuntu right now.
