If you click on it with the mouse it tries to start, and then it crashes without report.
for Gnome-Partitionierungsmanager you mean Gparted? which release are you running? and if what you mean its Gparted, which version of it you're trying to run?
It is the newest version in Dapper. Icoudn't no more see, because it doesn't start.
Andrea: gparted is labelled "Gnome Partitionierungsmanager" on german systems. I just installed it to find out.
Frank: run this for version info: dpkg -l gparted
You can also look in Synaptic.
It is in english gparted and the Version is 0.1-0ubuntu5 I'm sorry, but I don't have experience in Bug-Reporting.
Did you try to run it from a terminal?
sudo gparted
Do you get any error messages?
yeah exactly try to run it from terminal, provide here a log of what you get Thanks
fstreitz@Frank-2:~$ sudo gparted Password: /dev/mapper/vg00-opt1: No such file or directory
fatal error -- couldn't initialize XFS library
glibmm-ERROR **: unhandled exception (type std::exception) in signal handler: what: basic_string::substr

Maybe 'gparted' has problems with LVM?
