Bug Description

Version: Mythbuntu Karmic Alpha 6 (without updates and after last apt-get 2009-09-20 2330 Central time)
Platform: amd64
Theme: mythbuntu 9.10 wide

I have at least 2 DVD ISOs that worked fine under Jaunty and myth 0.21 that now have audio messed up at the DVD Menu.
The samples I played are from Robot Chicken Season 1 & 2. At the DVD Menu, there's an audio track that plays that's about one and a half minutes long and then it loops. Under karmic/mythtv trunk, the audio plays fine for 5-10 seconds and then plays really fast for 3-5 seconds and then stops. I can't tell if it plays through the whole track or if something just stops while going fast. The track no longer loops (no audio at menu anymore). From what I can tell, selecting episodes still plays them properly with audio and video being synced. I played an episode for about 2 minutes to make sure.

The machine's hardware is the same between running 0.21 and 0.22/trunk except for a replaced NIC.

Obviously I'm not going to attach an ISO to this bug, but are there any files part of a ISO that would be useful?

When I get home tonight I'll try other ISOs I have.

Howdy, and thank you for helping to improve Mythbuntu by reporting this issue. We have forwarded it upstream. In the future, you can find which version you are running by issuing the following command:
 apt-cache policy mythtv-frontend

It may be unrelated, but I have a similar problem on a TV show DVD. Ripped to ISO with k9copy, plays fine in xine, but using the internal player the audio will play fine for a few seconds then get really fast. Eventually the video will go really fast as well. This isn't in the menu though, this is on episode 1 of the show.

mrandr, i'll let you decide if this should be a separate bug report.

Thomas: upstream pointed out that a log with -v playback would be very helpful (regardless if it is the same problem or not). Could you capture & attach? Thanks!

I gathered the attached log by running this from a terminal.

mythfrontend -v playback > mf-v.log

Let me know if you need anything else.

Marc-
If you look at the upstream bug you'll see there's a patch available. I'm willing to test the change, but I really don't want to build from source (the machine isn't a dev box). Would it be possible to get a test package built, I can install a deb and test the change? This way Thomas and I can test the patch built the mythbuntu/ubuntu way since that's what we're using.

Looks like this missed the beta release (which is at r22101) by ~24 hours, and missed last nights nightly PPA build by two hours. Tonights nightly PPA should have it.
