Bug Description

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser

Installed Dapper Drake flight 7.

Epiphany always behaved the same when rendering websites (something to expect since they share the same rendering engine), but on Dapper fonts in Epiphany are smaller than in Firefox. I didn't alter any font configuration, this is on a clean flight 7 install. See screenshot.

Thanks for your bug. Did you specify some fonts to the preferences? what locale do you use?

As I said, I didn't change the font preferences. These are the default preferences when installing a fresh flight 7 dapper drake.

I don't think there's anything unexpected about this difference .... Epiphany uses the "document font" set in gnome control centre fonts applet (unless you specify your own font in Epiphany's preferences), which defaults to Sans 10 (that's 10pt). Firefox defaults to 16px.

Thank for the comment Christian! Closing since that's not a bug. If you want to argue that epiphany or firefox should use a different default feel free to open an another bug about that

I don't know how epiphany specifies the default fonts (or the size for
that matter) but that might be different to firefox. Also of course
the pango enablement/disablement might differ.
