libdvdread: Can't seek to block 524288

On two different copies of "The Professional" at exactly the same place I get the can't seek message. I have seen this in VLC, mplayed, and totem.

There isn't enough information to troubleshoot this problem. Try collecting a log from playing this movie in mplayer with debug turned on and attach that to the bug report. Also, please test if this issue can be reproduced in maverick.

This bug still exist, 10.10 cannot play dvd's stable. Does not matter what kinda drive, sata / pata, does not matter which player is used. Tested vlc, video-player and gnome-mplayer with this. Here you get a mplayer debug from this issue. Movies are only played some minutes, then suddenly stops.

Does not matter which dvd, i have many dvd concerts and viewed them well up to ubuntu 9.xx versions. VLC shows the same bogus, the error seems to be in libdvdread.

Have fixed the problem with firmware upgrades at both drives and checking their cabling. This is a bit ugly, users with this error should check their drives.

This bug still exists on Ubuntu 11.10 and vlc. Some movies stop after e.g. 2:30 h with
libdvdread: Can't seek to block xxxxxxx
