I cannot actually reproduce it, but the console outpu clearly demonstrates that the problem is real. This failure is introduced by an SRU or a security fix, so I'm marking it as medium.

Hi Chuck,

The problem disapeared when I decided to update Ubuntu to the 9.10
version. I don't know if it might have a solution or not. I just
changed because I got fed up with that.

Thanks for writing me and hope to keep helping Ubuntu reporting others bugs.
