Bug Description

1. With a music CD in the CD drive, start Rhythmbox.
2. From the "Music" menu, choose "Import Audio CD...".
3. In the "Sound Juicer" window, click "Extract".
4. Once the extraction has finished, click "Eject".
5. Close the now-empty window, and look at your Rhythmbox library.

What you should see:
* The tracks of the CD you've just imported, in your Rhythmbox library.

What you actually see:
* No new tracks. If you happen to have the correct part of your desktop visible, you might see that an extra folder has been added to your desktop, but what are the odds of that?

Thanks for your bug. There was a bug upstream about that to http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132363 which got fixed because you can use a monitored directory and configured sound-juicer to copy songs to it. I've reopened it because as pointed by some other submitter users should not have to configure them that way to get the songs used by rhythmbox

Even when you do configure Rhythmbox to monitor the library it doesn't seem to work 100%; there are two issues:

   1) It doesn't always get the files - I had two files marked as couldn't find the mime type of the file, but on reimport it worked - I'm _guessing_ that it is picking it up as soon as the file is created but before all the data has been sucked into it - SoundJuicer should probably lock or extract its files into a temporary directory and then atomically move once completed (in which case rhythymbox may need a defined pattern to ignore)
   2) A feature I think iTunes can manage on Mac is to start playing as it is extracting; Rhythmbox should have a facility to start playing sound files as they are created so that as you import a source you can start listening as it continues to be extracted.
