Bug Description

Ekiga is a VoIP (Internet) phone. After configuration, it is not possible with monitor or adjust the recording volume without starting a call.

The two volume levels appear, but do not update. The slides will move, but immediately jump back to there initial (zero) position when released.

I should be able to monitor the volume level before starting a call to confirm that everything is working.

Adjusting the GNOME/ALSA mixer does not cause the recording-level sliders to update.
