and it's not a UCK bug but maybe a network failure

Fabrizio, what happens when you do the command
bzr branch lp:gfxboot-theme-ubuntu

because I get the above error

I'm pretty sure this is not a problem with my network. Failing to fetch this file causes UCK to fail so until we figure out a fix or workaround, this is still a major UCK bug.

This bug was fixed in the package uck - 2.0.11-0ubuntu1

---------------
uck (2.0.11-0ubuntu1) lucid; urgency=low

  * New upstream release (also fixes LP: #478662).
  * Switch to 3.0 (quilt) format.
  * debian/control:
    - Drop bzr from Depends field.
    - Adjust debhelper versioned build-dependency.
    - Drop build-dependency on quilt.
    - Update debian/copyright.
