Did you test that the Debian version builds, installs, and functions correctly under Lucid?

josm depends on libgettext-commons-java (>= 0.9.6); however: Version of libgettext-commons-java in the Lucid repo is 0.9-1.

Builds, installs fines.

However, Class-Path: /usr/share/java/gettext-commons.jar /usr/share/java/metadata-extractor.jar
Fatal: failed to locate image 'styles/standard/shop/rental/library.png'. This is a serious configuration problem. JOSM will stop working.

Apart from the FTBFS, the package can't be synced from Debian as some specific Ubuntu modifications has not been integrated there nor in upstream.

So please merge the ubuntu's changes with the Debian package, and put back the status as new when finish.

If you need help with the merge, I'd be happy to lend a hand.

There is a report in the JOSM tracker (http://josm.openstreetmap.de/ticket/3721) that the patch which Fabrice is talking about doesn't quite work with 2255, that should probably be investigated :)

svn 2255 is out of date. The current stable version of JOSM is 2561.

On the other hand, 2561 isn't in Debian. Are you suggesting that we should drift from Debian and attempt to package svn2561? My opinion is that this would be suboptimal :)

I reported to Debian that there is 2561 available, just in case, it's debbug #561184

FYI new version of libgettext-commons-java is now in lucid

Attached debdiff merges svn2255 from Debian testing.

As a note, I took a look at the upstream code for 2561, and the 01-default-look-and-feel patch will likely need to be reworked, as soon as Debian resolve the licensing issues with that new version and upload it :)
