Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools

Changing the password to the same password, but in a different case, causes the Change Password window to lock up.

for example:
Old password: password
New Password: PASSWORD

will reproduce the bug.

Using the commandline tool passwd to attempt to do the same, will result in an error message stating "Bad: old and new password must differ by more than just case"

Thanks for your report. Does that happen when changing your own password, or when changing password for other users? Two different programs are used for these operations.

Only when changing password for my own user account.
I have not tested with changing a password for a different user account.
