Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubiquity
When you are manually partitioning a HD and have installed four primary partitions, right clicking on the free space causes an error, because ubiquity is trying to install a fifth partition. A warning window comes up telling you that you can only install four partitions.
What is going on, I think, is that right clicking and choosing "new" invokes the partitioner with "primary" (the default) already chosen. What should happen is that after the third primary partition, Ubuiquity should make extended the default.
At any rate, the partitioner in Breezy handled this better: when you used up your primary partitions, it automatically started logical ones.

gparted should really be a lot cleverer here. Fortunately, (a) you can still use the text-mode partitioner if you use the alternate install CD, and (b) we plan to rewrite the desktop CD partitioner for Edgy (http:// wiki.ubuntu. com/Ubiquity/ AdvancedPartiti onerRewrite); the rewrite won't suffer from this problem.
