Alessio, you compared libevent-execflow-perl and libevent-rpc-perl, but this bug is about *dvdrip* and libevent-rpc-perl.

This might be relevant to Debian, too - in case it is, please forward the patch.

Is it so that dvdrip only includes the files during build when they are not installed on the system already?

Yes, dvdrip does that only when it can't fine one or more dependencies.

It's not relevant to Debian, dvdrip is not available in Debian.
