Bug Description

After I upgraded my system to Lucid Lynx Alpha 3, I noticed that ibus is not working any more. When I click on the input method icon (keyboard icon) on the launch panel, nothing happens, so I am not able to switch input method. However, I can use Ctrl+Space hot key to switch input method, but when using the hot key, the ibus input method icon becomes something like a "stop" icon.

I also notice that the ibus input method icon will suddenly disappear, then after a while, it will come back again.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have classified this bug as a bug in ibus.

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's "Help -> Report a Problem" menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

Application indicators do not support full path icons (only themed icons), which are used by some input methods (see bug 522146).

I will use the default ibus icon (keyboard) for now, which is a better solution than showing the missing icon.

Can this bug report be revived? In Maverick and Natty I'm still getting a 'stop sign' icon when switching IM to Anthy.

IBus is showing stop sign again when changing input method in Maverick. I happens randomly for me, though. Change status.
