Bug Description

Binary package hint: xkeyboard-config

My keyboard is dk-latin but the live cd sets it US-English. Works fine if I reset it to dk-latin so this is just a detection problem.

Does it work if you select your keyboard layout from the boot menu?

It's unclear as a user what I'm setting in the F2 options at bootup, it's just refered to as language. If I do that I get the correct keyboard map (dk-latin) but everything is still untranslated.

This still happens on a current daily, but it's for an entirely different reason; casper doesn't reconfigure console-setup with the preseeded keyboard layout, and X now prefers to get the layout from /etc/default/console-setup.

This can't have been your original problem, because we weren't using console-setup yet when you filed this bug. However, when I nobble a live CD during boot by removing /etc/default/console-setup so that X falls back to the old-style keyboard layout detection, I can't reproduce this bug, so I figure it's gone away. All the same, I'm going to hijack this bug to note that we need to reconfigure console-setup during the live CD boot process.
