Bug Description
This is a new problem, since a recent upgrade (I think that an upgrade of the cupsys package was responsible - but it may have been smb-common).
Printing from Ubuntu to a shared HP printer on a Windows XP box, using the samba protocol now fails. It fails also with printers that are shared with IPP. The printing icon is displayed temporarily, but no output from the printer. There is no entries in /var/log/
When the printer is connected directly to the ubuntu box (and the settings changed to reflect the new connection of the printer) printing works perfectly.
Using cupsys v1.2.1-0ubuntu2 and smb-common v3.0.22-1ubuntu3.1
May be a WORKAROUND:
DOWNGRADE cupsys 1.2.2-0ubuntu0.6.06 -> 1.2.0-0ubuntu5, and my HP 4L who shared with IPP under Debian Sarge runs again.

The same problem arose since an upgrade of the cupsys package - smb is not present.
Printer - Canon bjc 4300
OS - ubuntu 6.06
cupsys v 1.2.1-0ubuntu2
printing icon displayed, but no output from the printer.
changing printer model to canon bjc 4200 (shares same driver with canon bjc 4300 ) is a workaround
