Bug Description

Binary package hint: humanity-icon-theme

/usr/share/icons/Humanity/categories/48/applications-electronics.svg

This icon is unintelligable at the menu size - you can only make out the spaner, and what on earth does a spanner have to do with electronics anyway?

Although pretty minimalist, what is wrong with the electronics category icons (various sizes) installed by the "extra-xdg-menus" package?

They use a couple of electrical component symbols as the metaphor, and are easily recognisable in all size renderings.
(Full disclosure - I drew them, but I'm not particularly attached to them... I just think the Humanity icon is poor).

Well , i'm not aware of the icon from the "extra-xdg-menus" , the current icon was from a contributor and I ain't attached to it either ;-) [just seemed better than having none ]

If you could post the svg icons here , I can have a look and update them /if/ they are better :-)

Also ,i wasnt aware the icon was being used in the menus. Else a 22/24px icon would have been included

The "extra-xdg-menus" package provides a .menu file to modify the layout of the menu, boosting the "electronics" category to a root menu status.

The icons I drew for extra-xdg-menus are pretty simple and perhaps don't fit with the Humanity theme 100%. They are installed in the "hicolor" theme area when extra-xdg-menus is installed.

I'll attach the files...

Thanks for attaching those , however , as you mention they do not fit in Humanity.
The current electronics icon was mainly meant for software center categories , and adding such an icon would stick out .

And i dont really agree with the use of the symbols.[people would be expected to know the symbols] Using an electronics board is much easily recognizable.
If you have any other suggestions , do suggest one :-)

Since the icon doesnt have a 24/22px size , I'v added those icons. Will atleast fix the blurry icon in the panel.

If you have an alternate suggestion for a better metaphor , do let us know :)
