Bug Description

Binary package hint: brasero

In the drop-down menu of the Brasero's tray icon there's an untranslated string in my Spanish desktop:

  "XX% done, YY:ZZ min remaining"

This string shows untranslated. However, it's perfectly translated in the Launchpad template since 2009-07-14:

  https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/lucid/+source/brasero/+pots/brasero/es/303/+translate

and the translation is included in the /usr/share/locale-langpack/es/LC_MESSAGES/brasero.mo file:

  ricardo@kadath:~$ strings -eS /usr/share/locale-langpack/es/LC_MESSAGES/brasero.mo | grep "quedan %s"
  %s, %d%% terminado, quedan %s

msgid matches perfectly the string in brasero-app-indicator, does this bug still manifest itself?

Yes, David, I just test it and the problem is still here, with exactly the same symptoms. Using fully-updated Lucid.

I just tested it in Maverick (fully updated) and with a German localization.

While burning a DVD with Brasero, the indicator menu of Brasero showed up fully translated – for the burn process as well as for the verify process. Please see the attached screenshot.

However, you'll notice that the message ist so freakin' dark, that it can hardly be read. Therefore I filed a new bug regarding the color of the message in the indicator menu of Brasero: Bug 760975 [1].

Summary: The problem does NOT exist in Maverick with a German localization.
