Bug Description

http://packages.debian.org/source/sid/zeromq

It would be nice to pull this package from Debian into universe in time for the Lucid release.

This should be very easy since the package is already made. The freeze break carries no risk since the package is not installed by default.

summary: - please pull zeromq from debian
+ [FFe] please pull zeromq from debian

Nack from me. I see no reason why we should get this in, especially at this point. Please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports.

Iulian, I think that Ryan needs zeromq synced from debian to have some easier work on dconf from lucid. Futhermore, it's a new package, so no real risk for lucid and could be easily synced from debian.

Can someone please try to build the current sid package on lucid, and check that it builds, installs, and works?

Zeromq 2.0.7 from http://packages.debian.org/source/sid/zeromq builds and installs cleanly on my up to date Lucid.
All the example code I tried seemed to function properly. Pyzmq also built cleanly from latest source and seems to function properly.

Having this in lucid backports would be a big help for us.
