Due to the redistribution policy, Backports is not authorized to handle this update, but I do agree with you that we should get this new version of Opera in the Dapper Commercial repository. I'm still trying to figure out who to contact regarding this.

I was suggested in #ubuntu-devel to contact mvo about this issue, so I've subscribed him to the bug.

Thank you very much. I think Dapper must be more active. There is a lot of stuff to update. 24 August, last nvidia drivers are out, support Xorg 7.1 and a lot of new things.

When backports will be ready on dapper!?

I've checked http://ubuntubackports.org. I've already that line on my sources.list to do when it's available.

dapper-backports has just recently began processing packages. There was an unexpected delay due to the changing of build systems.

I have contacted mithrandir on #ubuntu-devel regarding this, and he says that he will get in contact with his Opera contacts regarding updating dapper-commercial with a newer Opera package.

Since this is no longer a Backports job, I am rejecting this bug ticket.
