Bug Description
IMPROPER ISO COUNTRY CODE:
OpenERP uses the the two letter country code of UK for the United Kingdom.
This is incorrect. The official ISO two letter country for United Kingdom should be GB

This should be fixed soon.
I have made changes to the base_vat module, in which the VAT number verification is done now via the country code (taken from the country list ). This and other type of related developments would be affected. In base_vat, I made an alias function to the check_vat_gb function until it gets fixed.
I'm attaching the corrected file
