Bug Description

I have MS Windows XP and I downloaded the version in the summary (but also version 4 has the same problems....) and I have found all the names of the constellations and the north/east/south/ west letter in the sky are showed in mirror
 images and at the contrary.
Could you suggest me how I can solve these problems? Looking in the configuration I cannot find anything to modify for having all the names and characters in the right form.
Best regards
Gian

This sounds as though it may be a duplicate of Bug #596134.

Further to Matthew's request for a screenshot, could you please provide:
- details of your graphics card/adaptor model
- a copy of the Stellarium run log
(under Stellarium in Windows Start menu, named 'last run log')

You could also try running the 'Stellarium (no OpenGL2)' version (also
in Windows Start menu).

Okay, thanks. Just to summarise (to save looking in the attachments again):

- WinXP
- Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME (64 MB)
- Qt 4.6.2
- OpenGL1 (not forced)

- constellation labels are mirrored vertically
- cardinal point 'S' is mirrored vertically
- 'Moon' label is okay
- toolbar text is okay

This is different from the font corruption bugs but is still related in
that all of the text drawing code needs cleaning up.

Gianlorenzo - This will get looked at, but it may take some time. (Just
a note for future reference... A lot of people won't open '.doc'
attachments or links, so it would be better if the screenshots were
either jpg or png. You can just use MS Paint - open it, make the blank
image smaller than your screenshot, paste in your screenshot, save as
jpg or png. Also, you can get a screenshot of just the active window -
use Alt+PrintScr.)

Does anyone have a temporary workaround for the font mirroring?

Peter

I have a font corruption problem with stellarium 0.10.5 on a Acer Aspire
1300 with an old S3 Graphics Twister K + S3Hotkey graphics card. I already
installed the latest version of the graphics driver (139412 6.14.10.12), but
that didn't solve the problem. I tried to install the S3 Graphics
ProSavageDDR driver, but the installation failed because of incompability.

I then added "use_qpaintenginegl2 = false" in the [main]-section of the config.ini file. This changed the problem in the OpenGL2-mode of stellarium: Now the characters are mostly readable, but mirrored vertically, but sometimes the become corrupted after zooming or using the command panel. In the no-OpenGL2-mode the problem is still unchanged.
