Bug Description

A newer version of sdcc is in the debian repository. Is there a reason why this has not been synced?

The 2.6 version is critical for some of the PIC software packages I'm working with.

Automatic syncs were turned off when the main distro went into upstream version freeze, and universe freezes tomorrow, but we can try & get it in in time, or get exceptions. Could you list why it's critical? Mainly hardware support?

thank you for your bug report :)

 sdcc (2.6.0-4) unstable; urgency=low

   * Create a directory in the build tree, and set it as the HOME directory.
That should fix the FTBFS on some build daemons.

I totally missed comment #1:

Looks like some nice new hardware support and other useful things. So:

Please sync sdcc 2.6.0-4 (universe) from Debian Sid (main). There are no Ubuntu changes, and the package builds fine in a clean Edgy pbuilder. Changelog entries are up there a bit.

The PIC16 support is greatly improved, plus the VASCO projects PUF (update firmware over usb) needs support from after 2.5 to work properly (they distribute a non standard release with their software currently).

I would of course like to stay within the repository for simplicity of future upgrades.
