Bug Description

Here's the crash report. I wasn't doing anything in particular. Just browsing the web, like I have been doing for a while now.

Same sort of thing happened to me. This time it happened when I left it running while I went away for a few mins and it had crashed by the time I came back.

Andrew .. did it ever happen for you with Feisty?

The packages have been updated quite a lot. Maybe we close this bug.
Were you using the opensource ati driver? (and if so, why were you using XGL and not AIGLX?)

I'll try to remember. It's been a while. From what I remember it turned out
that the ubuntu 3D screensavers were still switched on and caused the crash
every time I left the computer long enough for them to activate. I was using
the opensource ati driver. I used XGL because when I tried AIGLX it wouldn't
work. Things have been working fine since. I'm still using edgy so I'm not
sure if it happens in feisty.

Ah, I remember those crashes. Ati opensource driver was buggy, but is getting less buggy. I'll put this on rejected since we don't have any descent logs about it, and it isn't about XGL.

Ati opensource drivers made 3d screensavers crash in Dapper, even without XGL or beryl.

Changed in xserver-xgl:
status: Unconfirmed → Rejected
