Hmm Processing this via qdvdauthor seems to work so the error must be associated with the Kino created xml file. Here is the qdvdauthor xml file. qdvdauthur took the original kino written magician.xml file and wrote a new one.

Thanks a lot for your work on this bug. My apologies it has taken so long to review. Unfortunately, in that time, the patch has aged, and can no longer be applied as-is. I have unsubscribed ubuntu-universe-sponsors pending the preparation of an updated debdif.

Could you please check to see if this applies to gutsy? If so, please update the debdiff to apply to gutsy, and resubscribe ubuntu-universe-sponsors for upload. Due to changes in the procedures, please also include a change of the maintainer to match the DebianMaintainerField spec in the new candidate revision.

If this only affects edgy (or feisty), please consider preparing a stable release update candidate (for either release). For these, it is essential that the origin of the patch be documented (backport from newer version, pulled from CVS, created by hand, anything is fine) in the changelog. The target distribution should be release-proposed (e.g. edgy-proposed), and the version should be a point release (e.g. 0.6.11-5ubuntu0.1) for edgy. Please also resubscribe ubuntu-universe-sponsors for sponsorship of any proposed updates.

I was having the same problem of segmentation fault everytime I tried to use dvdauthor. However I found that the problem is actually due to incorrect invoke of dvdauthor. Joey I think you are also facing the problem due to incorrect command line:

You are running 'dvdauthor -o dvd/ magician-dvdauthor.xml'

Correct command should be 'dvdauthor -o dvd/ -x magician-dvdauthor.xml'

You have not specified the -x option when using the xml file

I think this should solve the problem since it solved my segmentation error problem.
