Bug Description
Binary package hint: evince
ok, this has bugged me since forever and today I thought I would just ask and see if it can be fixed.
The use-case is printing two-sided on a single-page printer (which is just about all home/office printers) and in my case 2-sided printing accounts for about 40% of all print jobs, so it is worthy of being fixed.
in the current model, to print double-sided, you must
* select Print and arrive at the General tab
* select Print Pages All, then click Reverse
* switch tabs to Page Setup so you can select Only Print Even
* then click OK,
then you collect up the pages, turn them around and re-feed them, return to Print/General and
* uncheck reverse
* then you need to click Page Setup again so as to switch Only Print to Odd.
if Only Print were moved into the General tab, things would be more efficient by two clicks and one page-reorientation (ie the eye must re-scan the panel to re-find where to go); since Only Print is semantically related to Print Pages and Reverse in that it selects the content page ordering, it even makes logical sense to relocate that function closer to its use-case related operations.
granted my requested change, this common process becomes localized to the General tab (since it is a very common use-case) and all functions required for the operation are within a focal-point region on that one tab.
