Bug Description

Binary package hint: kid3

New upstream release http://kid3.sourceforge.net/#download

According to this bug

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kid3/+bug/481789

there is a possible license conflict. We should remove MP4 support and move kid3 back to universe. If it is uploaded, I am going to inform upstream about it.

Why do you need sponsoring? You are in MOTU, you have upload access, Christian.

I didn't do anything Ubuntu related for a long time and I decided to be careful while getting in touch with it again.

There is kid3 1.5 in Debian experimental available. Could you merge our package with experimental?

Well we could sync, because there are no remaining changes after removing MP4 support. But it would not be documented in the changelog why we removed the MP4 support after having it for I think 2 cycles, so I would prefer to update it in Ubuntu and wait for what upstream thinks about it.

Please file bug about it upstream and Debian if it's necessary. Sync should be done.

There is nothing I can report to Debian, because they are not shipping MP4 support and I do not think that this is an upstream bug. I still prefer to update it in Ubuntu and to sync in the beginning of the natty+1 cycle if necessary and possible. I'll have a look.

debian-changes-1.5-0ubuntu1 looks like it shouldn't be in the package?

Sorry Christian, I merged kid3 debian version with mp4 support, and it is depwait build, I can reupload the package with this issue fixed, or you prefer do it?

Sorry for the inconvenience, I didn't show this bug report.
