Bug Description

Sorry if I am incorrect, I am still a bit new. I had only Firefox and Gaim open, Gaim keeps crashing when I try to log in. file:///var/crash/_usr_bin_gaim.1000.crash

Similar problem with only Firefox and Gaim open, but it crashed when I was typing a message.

André, thank you for commenting about the bug you faced. Your crash file show it's a different problem than the one you are commenting on though. If you don't know what you are doing better to open a new bug than to comment on some random bug and let bug triager point you to the right place. Your backtrace show that your problem is similar to bug #73036 though, you might want to subscribe to that bug then

no problem, if you want to now if the crashes are similar you can compare the first function from the backtraces, if they match that's likely the same problem

Edgy and gaim are not supported anymore. Please open a new bug if you get a crash with pidgin in a later version of Ubuntu.
