Bug Description

Binary package hint: openshot

Please sync openshot 1.3.0-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main).

There is a new upstream release of OpenShot (version 1.3.0), and it needs to be synced to Ubuntu 11.04 (natty).

We do not have a CHANGES file, but here is the a link to our LaunchPad milestones, which document all the "changes":
https://launchpad.net/openshot/1.3/1.3.0

The details of our PPA build for Natty, including the buildlog can be found here:
https://launchpad.net/~jonoomph/+archive/openshot-edge/+buildjob/2260837

Debian Changelog entries since current version 1.2.2-1:

openshot (1.3.0-1) unstable; urgency=low

   * New upstream release

Can we drop the Ubuntu change?

I tried to build the package on amd64 with pbuilder but it failed on clean:

dh clean
   dh_testdir
   dh_auto_clean
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "setup.py", line 21, in <module>
    from distutils.core import setup
ImportError: No module named distutils.core
dh_auto_clean: python2.6 setup.py clean -a returned exit code 1
make: *** [clean] Error 1

Benjamin,
The LaunchPad PPA system had no issues building it (build log linked above). Same with the Debian build server. I'm not sure why it would have trouble with finding the distutils.core module when you try and build the package. I think distutils is built into Python. On my system, it loads distutils.core from /usr/lib/python2.6/distutils/core.py.

Also, I do not understand your question about dropping the Ubuntu change? Can you explain?

Thanks!

Hm, the build failure was probably caused by an upgrade bug. I throw away my pbuilder chroot and created a new one. It built with the new one.

There was a change made for Ubuntu (1.2.2-1ubuntu1). Is this change included in Debian or can it be dropped?

sync request ACK'd

I am not familiar with the change made for 1.2.2-1ubuntu1. I imagine it had to do with the renaming of python-mlt2 to python-mlt3. If that is the case, then yes, the change has been made in Debian and is safe to sync.
