Bug Description

The 0.61.05-6 synfigstudio deb has issues with invisible tool icons and malfunctioning tools, making the program unusable. The Feisty version (0.61.05-8) seems to have most of these issues resolved, so it would be nice to have a backport.

Both synfig (http://packages.ubuntu.com/feisty/source/synfig) and synfigstudio (http://packages.ubuntu.com/feisty/source/synfigstudio) builds in prevu.

While testing the builds I did not experience any of the problems mentioned in the thread linked in the request regarding missing icons.

Decided to give prevu a try for myself. Synfig and synfigstudio built fine in prevu and ran without the problems I (and others) had in the Edgy version.

There are four fewer tools in the Feisty version than were in the Edgy version (especially freehand draw is missing). Presumably future versions will reimplement them. Working at all is an improvement.

If the program is unusable, it should be updated in the stable release rather than being backported. Please follow the procedure on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MOTU/SRU for this.
