Binary package hint: software-center

The window says "debconf on ubuntu-desktop." (Ubuntu-desktop is whatever the computer name is.) It appears when an application is installing, and closes when it's done.

I installed a lot of applicatons today, and DebConf window is popping out for a less than a second very often, which was very distracting. Can it be, at least, minimised?

This bug also affects me. While installing Mixxx, the window, labeled as "Debconf sur [name of the computer]" (French), popped-up 4 times.

We've had several confirmed reports now. In the future, please do not
post just to say this is also affecting you, instead use the "This bug
affects 10 other people" link to mark it as affecting you too rather
than writing a comment which spams all the subscribers and does little
other than add noise.

(the irony of writing this comment is not lost on me, of course)

This is happening to me as well. Seems to have no effect whatsoever on installs, but is quite annoying... I'm on Xubuntu 11.04, fresh install on a Dell Inspiron 6400...

It is happening to me aswell, it's popping up a lot and the window is up for a very short period of time (much less than a second). The software seems to be installing correctly, but the window is annoying.

One fix would be that debconf shows the window only when it actually needs user input.

I'm using Xubuntu 11.10 (Originally Ubuntu 11.04, but I installed xubuntu-desktop and upgraded to 11.10).

The window pops up almost every time I use Software Center with title "debconf on myComputerName" but no content.

This seems to only occur to me, and others I know when automatic sign in is enabled and you don't log into your keyring or such by logging in normally on boot.
