This is a packaging bug inherited from Debian. I've submitted a patch over there (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=415054), which I'll also attach here.

Good stuff, jonh. The fix has been made up in debian, so just copying over the debian package might be easier? See http://packages.qa.debian.org/c/cryptmount.html.

Please sync cryptmount 1.2-2 (universe) from Debian (main)

There are no Ubuntu changes.

cryptmount (1.2-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Patched postinst script to update rc.d more sensibly

  * Incorporated Dan O'Huiginn's patch for installation of cmtab.example

  * Uploading closes: bug#415054
