Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubuntu-desktop
Hi,
I'm evaluating ubuntu 6.10 Edgy running in a virtual machine using VMWare on XP Pro SP2.
My mouse buttons/scroll wheel work fine (thanks to ubuntu forum) but I have a problem with left-handed buttons. I can change the buttons in a session and they're fine for that session. However, when I re-start or start a new session at another time, the mouse buttons have reverted back to right-handed configuration, even though:
- the GUI (System>
- sudo gconf-editor> desktop>
...both show the left-handed mouse button option 'ticked'.
Each new session I have to untick and re-tick to get the left-handed functionality activated again.
I've tried the option of saving the session exactly as it is now:
- System>
- System>
but no joy.
I really like ubuntu 6.10 and will persevere but it's going to be a fag to set my mouse prefeference every time I startup ubuntu.
Thank you for your bug. Do you still have that problem? Why do you start gconf-editor with sudo, that way you change the key for the administrator and not your user
