Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

I'm having the same problem. Looking to line 317 in ubi_prepare, I see that parted_devices is bring called. I have plenty of devices, some of which are indeed large enough to install (k)ubuntu on. But when I run parted_devices in the command line, I get nothing, just a newline. It's a shot in the dark, but my guess would be that the bug has something to do with that.

Oops, forgot to mention, I'm running the March 26, 2011 daily build of Kubuntu Natty with Ubiquity 2.5.29

The traceback alone is not enough to debug this. Could you please attach /var/log/syslog, /var/log/partman, and /var/log/installer/debug to this bug, following the directions in http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingUbiquity/AttachingLogs? Thanks in advance.
