Bug Description

Core dump

ubuntu asked if I wanted to restore a previous firefox session, and I clicked the restore session button, which opened firefox to my yahoo email.

I clicked the 'check mail' button to make sure the list of email was up to date, and firefox began to load, it got about 60% finished then just crashed.

also, when the bug report tool came up and brought me here, I tried to enter this info, and when I went to add the contents of the crash file, the system began to lag badly. It became so bad that I had to shut the computer down. It appears to be lagging again, as I type this, the network monitor shows that I am sending and receiving huge amounts of data, even though nothing should be, and I even removed the antenna from my wireless card. The wireless monitor shows a red dot symbolizing no connection, but the monitor continues to show data being transfered.

I cannot paste the crash log file, because when I try to open it , gedit hangs and will not display the document.

The CPU monitor shows the computer is using ALL its power just to open a text file.

Can you open the crash report in vi? Sometimes gedit hangs with some of the symbols in crash files.

Thanks

No, I cannot open the file in VI because I do not know
the commands for VI, and when I ask VI for help, it
tells me there are no help.txt docs.

I cannot attach the file because its over 10
megabytes.

I can't even cut & paste it from Gedit, I can select
it and copy the text, but when I come back to my email
it won't allow me to paste, I do not know why.

Can you click Add comment/attachment at the bottom of this Launchpad page to upload the file?

Hmm this crash report is missing the versions of the packages that are installed. This is going to make it tricky to decode the core dump in it...

Unfortunately, your crash report does not contain the information that we need in order to process this bug properly. This regularly happens and is not the reporters fault.

If you ever manage to capture another crash report, don't hesitate to open a *new* bug. Thanks for your contribution,
