Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-session

ISO Testing: ubuntu-desktop-i386 20110405

This crash occurs on both KVM and VirtualBox. .xsession file attached

TESTCASE:
1. Sync the latest desktop ISO
2. Boot it
3. When the Ubiquity dialog shows up select 'Try Ubuntu'

Result:
Black screen

  * debian/patches/05_enhance_fallback_mode.patch:
    - initialize the fallback message variable to null so it's not freed in
      the livecd case where no fallback message is displayed
