Bug Description

Tried to install kubuntu (6.10) from the CD.

Error msg:
Installer Crashed.

Hello. Thanks for filing a bug. Could you please attach /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman to this bug, by commenting on the bug's web page? That would help us better identify the cause of the problem. Thanks.

Further information:

Since this is a Live CD based installer you have likely lost the original log files when you turned off or rebooted the machine. In that case the only way to get the log files is to reproduced the install procedure (with the crash) and upload the files directly from the Live CD. Please let us know if you are able to do that at this stage.

To upload the files you need to run firefox from the Live CD session where the installer crashed, visit this bug page and click on 'Add a comment/attachment' at the bottom of the page. Click Browse and navigate to the requested files in /var/log.

I'm afraid that there is nothing I can do about this without the requested log files. If you (the original reporter) can reproduce this bug with a current release and can get me the log files, feel free to reopen this bug. (Anyone else reading this who believes they have a similar problem should open a new bug instead.)
