Bug Description

So I was testing out ff5 to see if bindwood would just need a max version bump to work and it didnt replicate. After a little checking I found a error in the error console from bindwood (Attached). thisfred said to attach .cache/desktop-couch/desktop-couchdb.log.1 too so doing that.

I have firefox 6.0.2 installed on three machines running natty. I never got bookmarks syncing. In the past at some time there was a least on one machine a "bookmark.couch" created in .local/share/desktop-couch (dated from 06/2011). However this db is no longer being updated.

Nevertheless, with the last firefox update to 6.0.2 I carefully reinstalled xul-ext-bindwood and cleared old caches. I enabled bindwood.debug and now get reproducible error logs on all machines:

Bindwood: Getting started in init.
Bindwood: Got our profile: default
Bindwood: Got our environment, proceeding.
Bindwood: Got our db name: bookmarks
Bindwood: Setting up synchroniser.
Bindwood: Got our last known sequence number: 6372
Bindwood: Initialising synchroniser.
Bindwood: Error creating database: message: 'Component returned failure code: 0x80570018 (NS_ERROR_XPC_BAD_IID) [nsIJSCID.getService]', reason: 'undefined', description: 'undefined', error: 'undefined', raw error: '{}'
Bindwood: Something wrong with the process, exiting. message: 'Component returned failure code: 0x80570018 (NS_ERROR_XPC_BAD_IID) [nsIJSCID.getService]', reason: 'undefined', description: 'undefined', error: 'undefined', raw error: '{}'

I deactivated all other firefox extension to see if there was a collision, but had no luck.

patches/firefox_6_compat.patch contains getService() call with a string, which is used in Components.classes[].
The patch should be updated with the code from https://code.launchpad.net/~chrisccoulson/bindwood/ff6-compat/+merge/68906
