Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

Hello,

Compiz crashes when we launch it.
I didn't have this problem before, only after the last update (and a reboot). But it's strange because only compiz-plugins-main packages (and not other compiz packages) have been updated :
    compiz-fusion-plugins-main 0.9.4+bzr20110527-0ubuntu2 -> 0.9.4+bzr20110527-0ubuntu3
    compiz-plugins-main 0.9.4+bzr20110527-0ubuntu2 -> 0.9.4+bzr20110527-0ubuntu3
    compiz-plugins-main-default 0.9.4+bzr20110527-0ubuntu2 -> 0.9.4+bzr20110527-0ubuntu3

And this is the diff between these version: https://launchpadlibrarian.net/73309224/compiz-plugins-main_0.9.4%2Bbzr20110527-0ubuntu2_0.9.4%2Bbzr20110527-0ubuntu3.diff.gz
  => nothing about the code, only about default parameters and the debian directory.

There were also other updates but nothing about compiz and its dependences: aptdaemon aptdaemon-data command-not-found-data gnome-codec-install launchpad-integration liblaunchpad-integration-common pitivi python-aptdaemon python-aptdaemon-gtk python-aptdaemon.gtk3widgets python-aptdaemon.gtkwidgets python-software-properties software-properties-gtk sun-java6-bin sun-java6-fonts sun-java6-javadb sun-java6-jdk sun-java6-jre yelp

Confirming for Compiz; in my case (running Unity) I log in, the workspace background is painted and that's it. SSH-ing in I can see the following in /var/log/syslog:

This bug was fixed in the package compiz-plugins-main - 0.9.4+bzr20110527-0ubuntu4

---------------
compiz-plugins-main (0.9.4+bzr20110527-0ubuntu4) oneiric; urgency=low

  * debian/patches/01-animation-defaults.patch:
    - reset to wrong value "Fade" as compiz is segfaulting when using the right
      value with the gconf backend ("Focus Fade"). However, changing directly
      the xml and the gconf schema doesn't fix, and even then choosing the right
      value in ccsm fix it (and set "Focus Fade" itself). (LP: #795524)
