Bug Description

During the system-installation, after the partitioninf of a former ext2-partition into the new ext3-syspartition (on device hdb5) and loading GRUBloader on hda(=hd0) the screen showed the message about a CRASH OF THE INSTALLER.
The todays-versions of files /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman where not found by Ubuntu , (which I found on dev hdb6) belong to a previous installation (25 jan. 2006).
The crashreport on screen as well as both previous /var/lof-files can't be attached at this message because there seems to be no attach-feature here.
If helpfull I can send them to you by regular webmail-message; please provide me with the email-address required and available for this purpose.

Thank you for your assistance to solve this bottleneck.

Regards,

Please attach the syslog separately; you can certainly attach more than one attachment, you just need to do it in one step per attachment. We need the syslog to properly isolate your bug.
