Bug Description
GNOME login window allows maximum 15 characters in the password field.
Why not give the same limit to the GUI, 'users and groups' or remove this limit?
Workaround:
Had to login in terminal mode and change my password (sudo passwd USERNAME) to get back in.
Using Ubuntu 6.10

Thank you for your bug. Login with a 20 chars password works fine for me and other people have no problem user a password longer than 15 chars neither. What locale do you use? Do you use a ome non ascii char? That could be a duplicate from bug #70901
