Bug Description

Hi, I tryed the herd2 and the daily from 25th Januar feisty iso on my intel core duo. After the keyboard detection it starts to load some drivers but then the systems hangs. If I switch to tty4 I can see the error message: kernel not found, this messages appears again and again.
Here is the exact description of my pc http://www.transtec.de/D/D/products/personal_computer/pc/mini_pc.html?mod=prod&name=SY600MTA45-A

If I install edgy and then upgrade with the herd2 CD the system boots, I booted kernel 2.6.20-5-generic

Thanks for your report. This is also bug 76341; booting with hw-detect/start_pcmcia=false is a workaround. Note that you'll need a newer image than Herd 2 due to bug 79109.

Launchpad Janitor (janitor) wrote : This bug is now reported against the 'linux' package

Beginning with the Hardy Heron 8.04 development cycle, all open Ubuntu kernel bugs need to be reported against the "linux" kernel package. We are automatically migrating this bug to the new "linux" package. However, development has already began for the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. It would be helpful if you could test the upcoming release and verify if this is still an issue - http://www.ubuntu.com/testing . If the issue still exists, please update this report by changing the Status of the "linux" task from "Incomplete" to "New". We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make this transition. Thanks!
